Michael Saylor Signals Third Bitcoin Buy in August as Strategy Accelerates

by Enoch Mwathwa

Michael Saylor has hinted at another Bitcoin purchase for Strategy this month. If confirmed, it would be the company’s third acquisition in August, extending its aggressive approach to Bitcoin accumulation despite recent market turbulence.

Strategy’s August Purchases and Growing Holdings

Strategy’s most recent purchase came on August 18, when it acquired 430 BTC for $51.4 million. This brought the firm’s total holdings to 629,376 BTC, worth over $72 billion at the time of writing. The buy followed an earlier August transaction of 155 BTC, placing the month’s combined acquisitions at 585 BTC. While this figure is modest compared to Strategy’s usual bulk buys of thousands of Bitcoin, it shows a steady and deliberate strategy to increase reserves.

Data from SaylorTracker shows the company is up more than 56% on its Bitcoin investment. That amounts to approximately a sum of around $25.8 billion not realized at current prices. This stunt has enhanced the place that Strategy has taken both as the biggest corporate Bitcoin holder in the world and as far ahead of its rivals.

Michael Saylor remains a frontrunner in encouraging corporations and institutions to hold Bitcoin in their treasuries. His promotion has contributed significantly insofar as the adoption of Bitcoin in corporate financial sectors. The most recent indicators of the third August purchase fit this continuing drive, despite the softer stock performance the company is going through.

Market Impact and Investor Outlook

Despite the scale of these acquisitions, Strategy’s buying activity does not directly move Bitcoin prices. According to Corporate Treasurer Shirish Jajodia, the firm executes transactions over-the-counter and through private deals, thereby avoiding price disruptions in spot markets. He stated that the daily volume of Bitcoin trade is over $50 billion, so purchasing a billion dollars is not known to make any difference.

Rather than this, institutional accumulation ensures long-term price stability due to the increase in the floor value of Bitcoin. Short-term volatility is still dictated by traders and speculators, but it is the long-term overview of those in place that sets the tone of the market. This strategy is a further enhancement of Bitcoin, providing companies with resilience against inflation and currency risks.

However, Strategy’s stock performance has faced pressure. After dipping to a four-month low of around 325 this week, shares rallied to 358 by Friday. This volatility is typical of the general difficulties of Bitcoin treasury companies over the second half of 2025. Nonetheless, the fact that Saylor has remained focused on growth is an indication of a belief in the long-term value of the asset.

This was a bold move at a time when companies are still not certain about the digital assets. Yet another recognized purchase this month would serve to underscore that it dominates to the nth degree corporately in terms of Bitcoin.
